One year ago was the day we left New York City! I can't believe how the time has flown since that day we got all our stuff in the moving truck thanks to what had to be one of the biggest moving day ward turnouts in history (it was Memorial Day - excellent planning...), Helaman set out in the truck and Charlotte and I took the A train all the way to JFK for the last time.
This year, we celebrated the holiday by doing a little yard work. Helaman trimmed the overgrown rose bushes, wacked the waist-high weeds, applied weed killer, put down some landscaping fabric and 10 bags of mulch to ensure those weeds wouldn't be back.
New buds are already emerging and I think the roses are thankful. The garden is also doing well, though I'm nervous about the cucumber plants trying to take over the whole area...

I would LOVE to have a garden! I'm so jealous! I can't believe you've been gone for one year already!
I'm sure you know this, but just in case, you can cage the cucumbers just like you do tomatoes. Then they won't take over.
I'm jealous that you have a garden. I have 2 pots with tomatoes. That's it. :(
Have you fully converted to being Texan yet in your one year?
I think your plants are about 4 times the size of ours. You should have an early harvest, yes?
I can't believe that it has been a year already, boy time flies. I am loving your garden.
