Getting My Money's Worth, Part II

Just in 2009, I have purchased $1,903.54 worth of drug store items and have paid $12.15 (with a gift card received for a transferred prescription - no actual cash) . That is a whole lot of diapers, wipes, toilet paper, shampoo, razors, toothpaste, deodorant, makeup, soap and anything else they sell there. I don't know how long these deals will keep coming - they seem to get weaker and weaker as time goes by, so I had to give a shout out to some of the sites that made it possible:
And of course to Charlotte for [somewhat] behaving during our Saturday trips, and to Helaman for not making me feel too silly for having such an odd hobby.

The only way to really appreciate her savings is to actually see her in action. That is not saying you will learn how to do it yourself, but it is very impressive! It's pretty fun to hear the cashier when he tells her how little she owes, and of course then she pulls out her cvs bucks to pay for it. NICE . . .

I know I'll never be a coupon queen when it comes to the grocery store. But I would love to learn the ropes of CVS. Great Job!

Karen - the best explanation is here:

Click on "CVS 101" on the right hand column. For some reason I can't get copy the link.

Basically, you just buy things each week using tons of newspaper coupons and that will give you "Extra Care Bucks" back, which you can use to buy your haul the next week. Repeat every week!

I plan each trip in advance to make sure everything I buy is worth it and I don't have to do a bunch of math in the store. It is fun and REALLY cuts down on costs for all those necessities. Once you get into a system it isn't so complicated.

Only for you is it not complicated! We sure do love it when you share all your tips though, wish I had the patience for it!
